ProductsOVERVIEW We manufacture a range of products based on the measurement of very small values of electrical capacitance. Our main product is the PTL300E Electrical Capacitance Tomography System which can be used for a wide range of applications, including the measurement and display of the concentration profile of a mixture of two dielectric fluids. We manufacture 2 versions of this equipment, one for measurement in a single cross-sectional plane and a second twin-plane version, which can also be used for flow measurement in some applications. A brief description of the ECT equipment is listed in the PTL300E link below and full details of this equipment can be obtained by clicking on this link. Related sales and applications literature can be downloaded by clicking here or on the Support tab above. The ECT equipment is controlled by PTL's custom on-line software and the captured capacitance data can
be further processed using additional custom off-line software. An outline of the various software packages
available is listed below and full details can be obtained by clicking on the appropriate link.
We also manufacture precision capacitance measurement equipment, an example of which is the PTL110
Capacitance Transducer, details of which can be obtained by clicking on the PTL110 link below. ELECTRICAL CAPACITANCE TOMOGRAPHY SYSTEMS AND SOFTWARE PTL300E Electrical Capacitance Tomography Systems The PTL300E is an Electrical Capacitance Tomography (ECT) system controlled by Windows-based software running on a Pentium PC. Image data can be captured at a rate in excess of 100 frames per second for a 12 electrode sensor and at correspondingly higher rates for sensors with smaller numbers of electrodes. For further information, please click on the link above. Capacitance sensors for use with Electrical Capacitance Tomography Systems We manufacture a wide range of single and twin-plane guarded multi-electrode capacitance sensors for use with high-speed ECT systems. The sensor electrodes can be located either inside or outside the vessel wall. Examples of some typical ECT sensors are shown in this link. ECT32v2 Software for Electrical Capacitance Tomography The PTL ECT32v2 software suite is comprehensive on-line software for controlling and processing data from PTL300 ECT systems. The software runs under all versions of the MS Windows operating systems and can be used with both single and twin-plane ECT systems. For further information, please click on the link above. IU2000 Image Utilities Software The IU2000 Image Utility sofware is an extensive set of off-line tools for processing and viewing captured ECT image data. For further information, please click on the link above. Matect Software for Electrical Capacitance Tomography The PTL Matect software is a set of off-line Matlab utilities for displaying and modifying sensitivity maps and for generating images using these maps and transforms. For further information, please click on the link above. Makemap Software for Electrical Capacitance Tomography The PTL Makemap software suite calculates accurate sensitivity maps for circular ECT sensor with either internal or external electrodes. For further information, please click on the link above. Recal advanced calibration software The The PTL Recal software provides a number of additional calibration options compared with those included with the standard PTL ECT32 operating software. These include the ability to create a single point calibration file (where a physical calibration is carried out with the sensor containing air or any other suitable dielectric material only). In this case the upper calibration point values are predicted from either a theoretical sensor model or from a measured sensor permittivity file. This option is useful for generating a calibration file for a sensor in cases where it is difficult to completely fill the sensor with the second dielectric fluid, or for situations where there is no physical fluid, such as a flame or plasma. The Recal program also allows the permittivity measurement range to be modified following the initial calibration. For further information, please click on the link above. The PTL Plot3d software The PTL Plot3d software allows capacitance data captured using the PTL ECT32 software to be displayed as a set of multiple 2-D image frames and viewed in 2 or 3-D. The processed data can be converted into a video file which can be viewed using standard video playback software such as Windows Media Player. Versions of the PLOT3D program are available which can be run in either a stand-alone mode or under Matlab.. MULTIPHASE FLOW ANALYSIS MEASUREMENT SYSTEMS Tomoflow R100 ECT-based Multiphase flow measurement system The Tomoflow R100 Multiphase flow measurement system measures the flow rate and flow profile of one component of a two-phase mixture when both components are dielectric (insulating materials). It is therefore suitable for measuring the flow of mixtures such as solids and gases, oils and gases or solids and liquids, where the flow is non-uniform across the vessel or pipe. The measurement can be carried out either off-line from captured data or in real-time from on-line data and can be completely non-invasive for many material mixtures. The R100 equipment is most suitable for use in research environments such as flow measurement laboratories. See also www.tomoflow.com for further information on multiphase flow measurement. OTHER CAPACITANCE MEASUREMENT EQUIPMENT High Sensitivity Capacitance Transducer type PTL110 The PTL110 Capacitance Transducer measures small values of capacitance
up to 10 picoFarads (pF) and parallel conductance up to 10 microSiemens
(uS) in the presence of larger values of stray capacitance to earth. For further information, please click on the link above. Last updated 30-11-2004 |
